MoM (Ministry of Manpower) recommends clearly stating this and the remaining days agreed in a written agreement in the event of a subsequent dispute. Although the employer may choose to communicate orally to the maid about the rest day/holiday policy, it is always advisable to enter into a written agreement stating all the conditions. The main reason for this is to avoid any kind of future conflict, as only an oral agreement carries a risk of litigation and misunderstandings in the future.
